I started my teaching journey in higher education in 1970 when I joined the faculty in the Department of Psychology at Mississippi State University.ÌýÌýI had never taught my own class before then and I was overwhelmed with new class preparations, student advising, conducting research, supervising research, publishing, and other departmental obligations.ÌýÌýLuckily, I love a challenge and loved the university environment.ÌýÌýI thoroughly enjoyed my years at Mississippi State University.

In 1991 I re-located to Stockton, California and immediately became acquainted with 188bet±¸ÓÃÍøÖ· College.ÌýÌýI did substitute teaching in the spring of 1991 and then was hired as an Adjunct Instructor in the summer of 1991.ÌýÌýI also was hired as an Adjunct Instructor at CSU, Stanislaus (Stockton campus) in 1994 and was able to make ends meet by teaching at the two schools.ÌýÌýThis arrangement lasted many years.ÌýÌýMy tenure at CSU, Stanislaus ended in 2010 when a recession forced the termination of all Adjunct Instructors at the Stockton campus. Fortunately, I was teaching more classes at 188bet±¸ÓÃÍøÖ· College by then, and even taught a couple of graduate classes at University of the Pacific in 2017, and so I survived.ÌýÌý

I continued as an Adjunct Instructor at 188bet±¸ÓÃÍøÖ· College until 2019 when I was hired as a Temporary Full-time Instructor and then was fortunate to be hired as an Associate Professor at 188bet±¸ÓÃÍøÖ· College in 2020.
