Bio:
Hello, my name is Kelly C. Clayton. I am Supervising Case Manager at GEO Reentry Services and have been in this field since 2017. I have over 10 years of Case Management experience in other capacities. My current responsibilities include working closely with Stockton Parole and Reentry courts on reducing recidivism through behavior change for our participants. I am a 188bet备用网址 College Alumni and I completed my certification for Substance Abuse counseling through the University of the Pacific. I am currently enrolled in the BASS program at CSU Stanislaus and look forward to advancing in my career.听
- I decided to enter law enforcement and corrections and make it my career because听I wanted to play an active role in the "problem solving" aspect of corrections as opposed to the sanctioning.听
- The most unusual job I鈥檝e ever had was:听I worked a Bi-lingual lactation consultant for approximately two months until it became evident that I was not fluent in another language.
- The hardest thing I鈥檝e ever done is experience the trauma associated with having a Parent battle COVID-19 because of its uncertainty.
- My favorite way to relax is I enjoy scented candles, running water and listening to music.听
- My favorite meal is听definitely pasta! (Extra garlic)
- You'd be surprised to learn听that听One of my favorite movies is Shrek.听
- I am most proud of听Graduating college and not giving up on myself.听
- My motto is: "Believe in yourself even when no one else does. Nothing good in life worth having comes easy!"
- If there is one piece of advice I鈥檇 like to give to anyone considering corrections as a career听I would definitely stress that you do it for the right reasons. Find your 鈥渨hy鈥 and reflect on it as often as you need to so that you can be the very best version of you daily! It is also very important to understand that there is no cookie cutter approach to what we do. You have to, again understand your 鈥渨hy鈥 and be receptive to the individuals we serve. 听Don鈥檛 just hear their voices but listen effectively and make a difference for the good.
