SI Courses

Typically, SI sessions are held for historically difficult courses where there is usually a high level of "D" or "F" grades and a high "withdrawal" rate.Ìý Though the specific list varies each semester, courses typically chosen include:

• Math 38 series or Math 39
• Calculus I & II
• Biology I, II
• Physics 2A, 4A
• Chem 3A, 1A, 1B, 12A, 12B

SI was first founded at the University of Kansas City, Missouri by Doctor Deana Martin. This program strives to create an engaged learning environment where students interact with course material amongst their peers to gain applicable - there is no effort to separate students by knowledge level. Efficacy and data analysis prove that students who attend SI sessions on a regular basis typically earn higher grades than their peers who do not attend understanding.Ìý188bet±¸ÓÃÍøÖ· College is thrilled to be facilitating an SI program in conjunction with the HSI-StEM grant. It is our hope that students in these difficult courses utilize this amazing program as a resource to achieve their academic goals.
